““The doll is the small radiant entity of the psyche that speaks the truth, that gives true assessment of the situation, and tells the woman what to do next. It is the repository of a woman’s deep instinctual consciousness.””

VASILISA & BABA YOGA

A Journey Into the Wild Feminine Through Doll Making and Embodied Exploration of Vasalisa the Wise

a four-week online workshop with

Katarina Djorjevic and Stacy TenHouten

Vaslisa the Wise is a fairy tale that connects us to different parts of our psyche as an initiatory process to retrieve our wild, instinctual and intuitive selves.

Throughout the four weeks, participants will create two dolls: Vasilisa and Baba Yaga. The making becomes part of the inner journey, giving form to feelings, symbols, questions and emerging wisdom.

Each week will include:

  • storytelling and reflection

  • creative doll-making

  • journaling prompts

  • a guided somatic meditation and embodied practice

  • sharing and witnessing within the group

At the end of the series you will walk away with:

  • Two hand made dolls

  • A deeper understanding of the symbolic language of fairy tales

  • A new way of listening to stories through the body

  • A community connection with other women

Stacy TenHouten holds a Certificate in Jungian Studies from the C.G. Jung Institute of Los Angeles and is an embodied dreamwork and creative facilitator, trauma informed yoga instructor and artist working at the intersection of somatic practice, depth psychology, and the creative process. She served as faculty for This Jungian Life's Dream Studio and Lisa Marchiano's Spinning Straw fairy tale group, and hosts the podcast Entering the Creative Unknown.
