The Witnessing Tree

A Creative, Embodied Active Imagination Practice

In this class, we work with the image of the Witnessing Tree—a steady, rooted presence that sees without judgment and remains present across time.

Through gentle somatic grounding and guided active imagination, participants are invited to embody the tree and sense what it is like to witness their own life from a place of steadiness and continuity. The tree does not offer advice or direction. It simply sees, remembers, and holds.

This is a creative and experiential practice focused on witnessing rather than guidance. Instead of seeking answers or messages, we allow images, sensations, and impressions to be reflected back through the tree’s presence, noticing what it has seen and what it continues to hold.

The class closes with simple creative expression—drawing, writing, or gentle movement—to help integrate the experience and give form to what was witnessed.

No prior experience with movement, meditation, or active imagination is necessary. All images are welcome. Participation is invitational, and you are encouraged to move at your own pace.

This is a space to slow down, to be seen without interpretation, and to rest in what endures.
